Job summary

Health and Human Services Commission seeks Conservatorship Worker I–IV to manage CPS cases where children are removed from homes and placed in CPS conservatorship. You will assess needs, coordinate services, and work toward permanent placements with families and kin. Mobility and court liaison are essential.

New hires may advance with appropriate education and experience. Travel up to 85% is required, and the role emphasizes collaboration with families, legal parties, and community resources.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of child development and family dynamics required.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to travel up to 85% and work irregular hours.

Responsibilities

• Receives cases from investigators after children are removed and placed in CPS conservatorship.
• Determines each child’s needs and ensures referrals for tests, evaluations, or records.
• Plans for a child's permanency with families and communities.
• Identifies kinship and placement resources and completes home studies.
• Attends court hearings and prepares reports on the child’s needs and progress.
• Maintains records and coordinates with law enforcement, judges, and healthcare providers.
