Job summary

Milestone Treatment Center is seeking a Community Outreach Representative to build and grow our referral network across Central and Western Virginia. This 100% remote, field-based role focuses on meeting hospitals, clinicians, employers, and community partners to drive qualified referrals and treatment access.

You’ll travel 60–80% of the time, cultivate relationships, present Milestone programs, and coordinate with Admissions to ensure smooth handoffs.

Qualifications

• 2+ years in business development or healthcare sales or related fields.
• Experience in behavioral health, substance use, or healthcare preferred.
• Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent professional experience.
• Demonstrated ability to develop professional relationships and generate new business or referrals.
• Strong networking, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
• Excellent organizational and territory-management skills.
• Ability to work independently in a remote, field-based environment.
• CRM experience; Salesforce a plus.
• Comfortable using Google Workspace and other business technology.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to travel extensively across the territory.

Responsibilities

• Build and grow a network of referral partners across Central and Western Virginia.
• Conduct regular face-to-face meetings with hospitals, physicians, therapists, and employers.
• Identify and pursue new referral and business-development opportunities.
• Educate partners about Milestone's treatment programs and admissions process.
• Develop relationships that generate consistent referrals.
• Represent Milestone at networking events, conferences, and health fairs.
• Deliver presentations and CEU programs for professional organizations.
• Maintain contact with referral sources via in-person meetings, phone, email, and virtual channels.
• Collaborate with Admissions to ensure smooth handoffs and communication.
• Track meetings, activities, and referrals in the CRM.
• Monitor territory performance and referral trends.
