Job summary

The Texas Department of Family and Protective Services (DFPS) seeks a CPI Investigation Worker Trainee in Sulphur Springs to conduct investigations into child abuse or neglect. This is a mobile, field-based role requiring regular face-to-face contact with children and families in homes, schools, and community locations.

Investigators interview families, coordinate with schools, medical professionals, law enforcement, and courts, and complete extensive documentation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination with 2 years of relevant experience or 60 college credits with 2 years of relevant experience.

Responsibilities

• Responds quickly in crisis situations involving children.
• Conducts forensic investigations of reports of abuse/neglect to determine if abuse occurred.
• Interviews families, caregivers, reporters and others familiar with the case.
• Documents all relevant information and completes required forms accurately and timely.
• Gathers family and kinship information to support placement and may travel up to 75%.
