Job summary

The Texas Department of Family and Protective Services seeks a dedicated CPI Investigations Specialist I to conduct child protective investigations in a mobile, field-based role across El Paso and surrounding areas.

You will interview families, coordinate with professionals, assess risk, and document findings to protect children. The role requires travel and strong communication, teamwork, and ethical judgment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in a relevant field or combinations as specified in the posting.
• Experience in social, human, or protective services preferred.
• Ability to travel up to 60% and work in mobile environment.

Responsibilities

• Responds quickly in crisis and conducts forensic investigations to determine risk.
• Interviews family members and others involved in cases.
• Maintains thorough documentation and completes required forms.
• Travel to homes and community locations as part of field work.
• Collaborates with law enforcement, medical staff, schools, and courts.
