Job summary

Lingo Professional is seeking experienced Building Automation Controls Technicians/Engineers in Chesapeake, VA or Richmond, VA. This field-based role requires understanding BAS and commercial HVAC operation to diagnose problems across controls, electrical, and mechanical systems.

Qualifications

• Experience with Building Automation Systems or HVAC controls.
• Working knowledge of commercial HVAC systems and equipment.
• Ability to troubleshoot across controls, electrical and mechanical systems.
• Experience with BAS platforms such as Honeywell, Trane, Johnson Controls, Siemens.
• Ability to read control drawings, schematics and sequences of operation.
• Proficient with computers as diagnostic tools.
• Strong problem solving and customer service skills.
• Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record.
• Ability to pass background and drug screening.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and service Building Automation Systems and HVAC controls.
• Diagnose whether issues originate with controls, electrical components or mechanical HVAC equipment.
• Connect to customer BAS systems using a laptop for remote diagnosis.
• Troubleshoot controllers, sensors, actuators, dampers and other devices.
• Work with graphical interfaces and control sequences to identify issues.
• Perform scheduled preventative maintenance on BAS and control systems.
• Read control drawings, electrical schematics and system documentation.
• Commission and verify controls after service or changes.
• Explain issues and solutions to customers and facility personnel.
• Coordinate with HVAC technicians when mechanical repairs are needed.
• Maintain accurate service documentation and participate in safety training.
