Job summary

ACV Auctions is seeking an enthusiastic Inspector in Texas to join a growing, people-focused team. You will inspect vehicles at dealerships and auction sites, document conditions, and help deliver accurate reports to our clients.

Ideal candidates have automotive knowledge, strong communication skills, the ability to work outdoors, and a valid driver's license. This role offers growth opportunities and a collaborative environment within ACV Auctions.

Qualifications

• 1 year experience in the automobile field with customer service background.
• Ability to read, write, speak and understand English.
• Ability to work outside in the elements for extended periods.
• Problem solving aptitude to meet challenges with resourcefulness.
• Proven ability to work independently with minimal supervision while in a team.
• Excellent communicator with the ability to understand customer needs and expectations.
• Valid driver’s license and insured vehicle required.
• Knowledge of system capabilities and web-based applications.
• Ability to perform manual labor such as standing, lifting up to 25 lbs, bending, squatting.
• Ability to drive a manual and automatic transmission.
• Vision abilities to properly identify small defects around and underneath vehicles.

Responsibilities

• Actively support efforts to simplify and enhance the customer experience.
• Inspect vehicles at dealerships, auctions, and off-lease for damage and mechanical issues.
• Prepare and submit a condition report with repair/replacement estimates.
• Help sales team up-sell or cross-sell services and products.
• Interface with dealers to ensure client satisfaction and relationships.
• Travel to dealerships and homes to inspect and write reports.
• Take photos and upload them to the image server via company smartphone.
• List inspected wholesale vehicles on ACV Auctions platform.
• Sign up independent dealerships as buyers to use the platform.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
