Job summary

Rittal in the United States seeks an Automation System Service & Application Engineer responsible for technical support, system integration, and application development for Rittal automation systems such as WT, MT, MTS, EHRT, and Perforex. You will engage with clients to understand automation needs and ensure successful implementation and operation of Rittal products.

Qualifications

B.S. degree in Electrical or Electronic Engineering or equivalent training required.
Five+ years work experience in Controls Engineering or CNC Machines with plant floor experience.
Knowledge of pneumatics and vacuum systems, electricity up to 460V, transformers, and motion systems.
Working knowledge of CAD/AutoCAD drawing for RAS software.
Experience with automation systems, PLCs, and control technology.
Strives for continuous improvement of equipment and processes.
Familiarity with Siemens TIA Portal, Rockwell Studio 5000 and Rittal tools.
In-depth knowledge of PLCs, HMIs, and DCS.
Must read drawings, communicate concepts visually, and have good English; German a plus.
Experience with Microsoft Word/Excel.
Strong interpersonal, problem-solving and multitasking skills.
Overtime availability expected.

Responsibilities

Provide daily support to customers and sales engineers for RAS machines and accessories.
On-site and remote troubleshooting for RAS systems.
Be on-call as needed.
Assist integration of RAS products into existing customer systems.
Perform installations and configurations at customer sites.
Diagnose faults, perform repairs, and implement corrective actions.
Support installation and repair of RAS machines.
Conduct client and end-user training on Rittal automation systems.
Assist with setup and demonstrations at trade shows/events.
Travel up to 80% across North America and Germany.
Coordinate with Rittal HQ and partners in Germany on product and quality issues.
Perform other duties as assigned.
