Job summary

Henry Investment Group is seeking a Field Automation Tech/Programmer in Midland, TX. This full-time role requires in-depth Allen-Bradley PLC/HMI knowledge, plus Python/Java/HTML skills and experience with data collection protocols. You will spend about half your time in the field, perform service calls across multiple brands, and be on-call monthly.

Qualifications

In-depth knowledge of Allen-Bradley Studio Suite including RS500, RS5000, Studio 5000, FactoryTalk ME Suite, CCW, and Drive Executive.
Basic programming skills in Python, Java, HTML, and Adobe; able to read and troubleshoot these languages; writing from scratch a plus.
Create, update, maintain Python data collection software for multiple devices.
Experience with data collection and signaling: MQTT, 4-20mA, 0-10v, Modbus, Ethernet/IP.
Knowledge of cradlepoint/sierra wireless/pepwave cellular modems; manage deployment of edge devices.
General serial communication and ModBus/Ethernet/IP knowledge.

Responsibilities

Develop and deploy PLC and HMI programs from scratch based on discussions with clients.
Perform field service calls, across multiple lines of equipment and brands, 50% of time in the field.
Maintain and deploy edge devices; ensure proper operation and connectivity.
Interact with contractors and clients professionally; report advantages/disadvantages of new products.
