Job summary

Actalent is seeking a Controls Technician / Automation Field Service Engineer in the Savannah market area (Richmond Hill, GA). This role provides on-site electrical and controls engineering support for installation, startup, and optimization of automated manufacturing equipment.

You will serve as the SME for Siemens PLCs, HMIs, motion control systems, robotics, CNC equipment, and integrated automation, ensuring reliable operation and continuous improvement for diverse customers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or technical degree with relevant automation experience.
• Experience troubleshooting industrial automation equipment in field/industrial settings.
• Strong knowledge of Siemens PLCs, HMIs, and CNC systems.
• Familiarity with IEC PLC programming languages and safety practices.

Responsibilities

• Provide on-site electrical and controls engineering support for installation and commissioning.
• Act as SME for Siemens PLCs, HMIs, sensors, robotics, and automated systems.
• Troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and CNC issues on machine tools.
• Travel to customer sites to assist startup, troubleshooting, and maintenance.
• Analyze performance data and recommend improvements for reliability and efficiency.
• Maintain service reports and technical documentation for future projects.
• Collaborate with customers, vendors, and internal teams to ensure project success.
• Read electrical schematics and diagnose control system issues.
