Progressive is seeking a field Auto Damage Claims Adjuster in the Oakland/Berkeley area. You will inspect vehicles, write estimates, and set expectations for the repair process. You will negotiate with body shops and assess liability while managing your own workload in a field role.

The position requires driving within the assigned area and occasional office reporting. A valid driver's license and insurance are required, with a strong emphasis on customer service and compliance with policies.

Qualifications

• Minimum 4 years of relevant work experience with one year appraisal/estimatics or insurance experience.
• Associate's degree plus 3+ years in related field or Bachelor's degree with 1 year experience.
• Valid driver's license, auto insurance, and compliance with policies.

Responsibilities

• Complete vehicle inspections, write estimates, determine total loss evaluations, and set timelines.
• Negotiate repair process with body shops to control costs.
• Document claim details and ensure compliance with standards and laws.
• Evaluate claim payments and resolve without payments where appropriate.
• Review and determine validity of supplement requests.
