Job summary

Paycom - ATS in Wilmington, NC is seeking a Construction Helper to assist the supervisor by coordinating roofing, siding, and maintenance projects and by maintaining client grounds.

The role demands strong communication, a self-starter attitude, and the ability to work in both field and office environments. A high school diploma or GED is required, with about one year of construction experience preferred. Bilingual Spanish is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assist in planning, scheduling, and tracking production of roofing/siding installation.
• Run errands and assist supervisors in supply pick-up and drop-off.
• Assist Warehouse with packing and loading crew material pick-ups.
• Assist with pre/post and safety inspections and documentation, including taking pictures of completed work to ensure quality craftsmanship.
• Collaborate with the Field Supervisor to learn and develop skills in construction management.
• May operate equipment such as forklifts or company trucks.
• Other duties as assigned.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

This job has no supervisory responsibilities.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Assists in planning, scheduling, and tracking production of roofing/ siding installation.
• Runs errands and assists supervisors in supply pick-up and drop-off.

Qualifications: Required Skills/Abilities:

• Excellent communication skills both verbal and written.
• Self-starter with ability to quickly learn construction processes and techniques
• Ability to work in both field and office settings
• Proficient with Microsoft Office technology (Word, Excel, etc.).
• Clean driving record, with no accidents or major infractions within last 3 years.
• Bilingual (Spanish) preferred.

Education and Experience:

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
• One year of construction experience preferred.
• Knowledge of roofing or siding preferred.

Physical Requirements:

• Must be able to lift up to 50-85 pounds at times.
• Must be able to climb ladder and traverse roof at times.
• Must be able to access and navigate all areas of construction site in various types of weather.
