Job summary

Kokosing Materials, Inc. is seeking a hands-on maintenance/plant operations professional to support hot-mix asphalt production across their Central Ohio facilities.

The role involves plant upgrades, maintenance, and repairs at multiple asphalt plants and terminals, with a focus on safety and efficiency. The position requires welding and cutting experience, mechanical know-how, and the ability to work nights, weekends, and in various environments.

Qualifications

• Must have knowledge of Asphalt Plant Operations.
• Ability to work nights and weekends.
• Must have cutting and welding experience (Mig, Tig & Stick) and be able to pass certification.
• Must have mechanical knowledge.
• Ability to interpret drawings, welding symbols & specifications.
• Crane rigging and signaling certification.
• Able to work in confined spaces.
• Lockout tagout experience and/or certification.
• Class B CDL.
• Able to operate manlifts and work in elevated areas.
• Possess a clean driving record.
• Must be able to pass drug and alcohol screenings on demand.
• Must be able to work alone or with large groups of team members.
• Able to work in all environments. Wind, rain, snow, heat, cold, loud areas, etc.
• Able to lift 75 lbs
• Able to climb ladders and work at various heights up to 135'
• Able to solve problems.

Responsibilities

• Support production of hot-mix asphalt through plant upgrades, maintenance and repairs.
• Work at various asphalt plants and terminals in the Central Ohio region.
• Maintain safety and compliance with OSHA/MSHA guidelines.
• Operate company equipment and complete necessary paperwork.

Job Description

Summary

• The individual will be working at various asphalt plants and terminals in the Central Ohio region, supporting production of hot-mix asphalt through plant upgrades, maintenance and repairs.
• Working environment is a combination of indoor and outdoor.

Shift: 1st shift with potential for nights and weekends.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

• Work both supervised and unsupervised
• Perform tasks in a timely manner
• Work both efficiently and safely while adhering to applicable OSHA/MSHA guidelines
• Must value his and other team members’ safety as the number 1 priority
• Work in various environments
• Operate company equipment
• Submit necessary paperwork as needed
• Complete necessary training as prescribed by the company
• Get along with others and represent the company in a positive manner
• Follow direction of supervisors and other project team members
• Willing to fill in, when needed, to perform other duties at the Asphalt Plant (Ground Man or Loader Man)
