Job summary

The City of New York Department of Transportation, Division of Bridges, seeks an Area Supervisor (Highway Maintenance) II to oversee bridge and tunnel maintenance operations in Queens and surrounding areas.

The role requires strong supervisory experience, a valid Class B CDL (air brakes) and several years in roadway/bridge maintenance. Residency within NYC is generally required; 55-a Program considerations may apply.

Qualifications

• Four years of full-time roadway/bridge maintenance experience; two years in a supervisory role.
• Possession of a Class B Commercial Driver License (NY) with no air brake restrictions, maintained throughout employment.
• At least one year in Assignment Level I or an extra year of supervisory experience if assigned to Assignment II.

Responsibilities

• Supervise borough, multi-borough, or citywide bridge maintenance operations.
• Assign work locations and monitor progress and quality of crews.
• Compile reports on maintenance work and emergencies; respond to incidents.
• Oversee snow operations as part of anti-icing program.
• Keep field and job records up to date.
