Job summary

True Environmental is seeking an on-call Temporary Field Technician to conduct archaeological fieldwork throughout the Western United States. This part-time position offers $20-25/hour based on experience and may involve significant travel and outdoor work in diverse conditions.

The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Archaeology or related field and has experience in archaeological surveys. Proficient communication and teamwork skills are essential for success in this role.

Qualifications

• At least 6 months of archaeological field experience or field school experience.
• Experience performing archaeological survey and excavation.
• Ability to work in diverse, often difficult terrain, including hiking up to 5 to 10 miles per day.
• Full vaccination against COVID-19 as required by Executive Order 14042.

Responsibilities

• Conduct archaeological pedestrian surveys.
• Collect archaeological data using GPS, photographs, site forms, and sketches.
• Perform subsurface testing or artifact identification.
• Prepare high-quality field notes.
