Job summary

Chronicle Heritage is seeking Archaeological Field Technicians to support project work out of our Portland, Oregon office. The role will assist the Field Director and Project Team in completing archaeological pedestrian surveys, monitoring, testing, site delineation and recording in the Pacific Northwest. Preference will be given to local candidates.

Per diem will be provided for out-of-town stays. Lodging will either be camping or hotel, depending on their location.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in archaeology, anthropology, or a closely related field.
• Field school completion or equivalent experience in archaeology.
• 4+ months of survey fieldwork experience.
• Frequent out-of-town travel and valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Assist Field Director and Project Team with pedestrian surveys, monitoring, testing and site delineation.
• Record findings and document archaeological sites in the Pacific Northwest.
• Support out-of-town travel as needed and collaborate in a team environment.
