SWCA Environmental Consultants seeks a Staff Archaeologist – Crew Chief to join our Cultural Resources team in the New Mexico Four Corners region. This field role supports projects across client types, including renewable energy and infrastructure, with Albuquerque as the base and up to travel within NM or beyond as needed.

You will supervise field crews, ensure safety, and contribute to data collection, analysis, and reporting while integrating with multidisciplinary teams to deliver quality

Qualificações

• Bachelor’s Degree in Anthropology, Archaeology or a closely related field.
• 1 year experience with a wide range of field methodologies; up to 2 years preferred.
• Experience in New Mexico.
• Previous field supervisory experience.
• Accredited field school experience.
• Current listing, or ability to be listed, on federal and state cultural resource permits in New Mexico (including BLM and NMSLO permits).
• Knowledge of ArcGIS preferred.
• Current valid driver’s license and ability to safely operate a 4wd vehicle on rugged roads.
• Ability to travel to field locations, walk and conduct fieldwork for long hours in challenging conditions.

• Provide performance feedback to support project delivery.
• Oversee data collection, processing, analysis, and quality control tasks.
• Contribute to technical reports and planning documents with team members.
• Monitor task progress and resolve challenges with transparency.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to improve outcomes.
• Ensure compliance with policies, standards and permits.
• Other duties as assigned.
