Job summary

WSP USA in Albuquerque, NM is seeking an on-call Crew Chief-Level Archaeologist for the BLM Southeast Region. The role involves fieldwork, report writing, and coordination of cultural resource surveys across New Mexico.

You will author reports, conduct QAQC, and support project design and permitting processes. Eligible candidates travel as needed and hold NM crew chief qualifications; ArcGIS experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience meeting the Secretary of the Interior’s standards.
• 1–3 years in cultural resource management, reporting, surveys, regulatory compliance.
• Strong report writing and familiarity with Section 106 regulations.

Responsibilities

• Authors technical reports and cultural resource documents with clarity.
• Conduct cultural resources fieldwork, reporting, and mitigation.
• Perform data QAQC reviews and assist with fieldwork logistics.
• Assist with inventory, data collection, site forms, and report production.
• Conduct pre-field Class I records reviews.
