Job summary

The Texas Department of Family and Protective Services (DFPS) seeks an APS Investigator Specialist I–IV in Rosenberg, TX. This full-time role focuses on protecting elderly and disabled adults by conducting investigations, assessing risk, and developing service plans with families and community partners.

Regular field work, travel up to 75%, after-hours coverage, and strong communication skills are required.

Qualifications

• EJFs include investigations of abuse/neglect, 24-hour coverage, field work, and documentation of cases.
• KSAs include knowledge of agency policies, Texas laws, gerontology, and crisis intervention.

Responsibilities

• Investigates reports of abuse, neglect or exploitation of elderly or disabled adults to assess urgency.
• Provides after-hours services to maintain 24-hour coverage.
• Develops individualized service plans and maintains detailed case documentation.
• Makes presentations and participates in community awareness activities.
• Prepares routine and special reports for management.
