Position Summary:

This is a post-sale technical role involving responsibilities after the sale of our products. You will provide technical expertise during the installation, implementation, and maintenance of our products, ensuring customer needs are met and products function according to specifications. You may also assist in customer installation and customization, and provide follow-up support to sales and customer personnel by sharing technical information on specific applications. Responsibilities may evolve based on business needs.

Scope of Responsibilities:
  1. Provide remote second-level field applications support to customers and channel partners across the LATAM EM region.
  2. Possess or develop library preparation or NGS experience (desirable).
  3. Document customer and channel interactions in SFDC and respond to inquiries via email.
  4. Develop, write, and edit technical documentation and training materials, including webinars, seminars, and courses.
  5. Participate in ongoing training to maintain proficiency with Illumina’s products.
  6. Assist the commercial team during sales calls with technical and application support.
  7. Apply basic problem-solving techniques to resolve routine issues.
  8. Follow guidelines to determine appropriate actions.
  9. Work on limited scope assignments, following standard practices and procedures.
  10. Build internal working relationships and exchange information with colleagues and supervisors.
  11. Work under guided leadership with general instructions on new tasks.
  12. Receive periodic reviews based on established procedures.
  13. Demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication and training skills.
  14. Exercise judgment within defined procedures to determine appropriate actions.
Experience/Education:
  • Bachelor’s degree with some experience in molecular biology, cell biology, genetics, library preparation, NGS, or related fields; Master’s degree preferred.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Effective communication skills in English, both written and verbal.
  • Typically 0-2 years of professional experience.
