Job summary

Repligen is seeking a Field Application Scientist to support its upstream product portfolio in the bioprocessing industry. You will leverage cell culture process development, perfusion, filtration, and manufacturing expertise to partner with customers and the commercial team for technical support across pre- and post-sales activities.

You will coordinate with Sales, Product Management, and R&D to deliver on-site and in-lab support, draft detailed protocols, and drive continuous improvement

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Biology, Biochemistry, or Chemical Engineering.
  • 5+ years of cell culture experience in process development or manufacturing.
  • Experience with perfusion, ATF/TFF, and technology transfer.
  • Strong troubleshooting and data interpretation skills.
  • Excellent written and spoken English; ability to work cross-functionally.

Job description

Summary:

We are seeking a Field Application Scientist to support Repligen's upstream product portfolio within the bioprocessing industry. Leveraging expertise in cell culture process development, perfusion, filtration, and manufacturing, this individual will partner with customers and our commercial team to provide technical support across both pre- and post-sales activities.

Responsibilities
  • Work in coordination with the Repligen Sales team and Product Management to provide pre- and post-sales support for the XCell™ ATF systems, Spectrum® Hollow Fiber, TFDF™ Technology, and KrosFlo® TFF System product lines. This includes responding to customer requests for technical support, delivering technical seminars, conducting product demonstrations, providing on-site and in-lab support, troubleshooting process challenges, and assisting with Voice of Customer initiatives.
  • Develop and execute project plans to help customers successfully evaluate and implement Repligen technologies.
  • Analyze customer processes and data to identify opportunities for optimization, process improvement, and enhanced performance.
  • Troubleshoot technical and process-related challenges, perform root cause analysis, and provide practical, data-driven recommendations.
  • Draft detailed technical protocols, reports, and application summaries from customer interactions and project outcomes.
  • Build strong partnerships with customers and cross-functional teams to deliver responsive technical support and positive customer experiences.
  • Share customer feedback, application insights, and market learnings with Product Management and R&D to support continuous improvement and innovation across Repligen's product portfolio.
  • Contribute to the development of applications data, technical resources, and customer-facing collateral through collaboration with R&D and Marketing.
  • Stay current on emerging technologies, industry trends, and best practices in upstream bioprocessing, continuously expanding technical expertise to support evolving customer and industry needs.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in a scientific (Biology, Biochemistry) or engineering (Chemical Engineering) field.
  • 5+ years of experience working in a cell culture discipline within process development, manufacturing, technical support, or a related function in the bioprocessing industry.
  • Working knowledge of perfusion, ATF/TFF, scale-up/scale-down methodologies, technology transfer, and cGMP requirements.
  • Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to assess complex situations and develop effective solutions.
  • Ability to interpret technical data and communicate findings clearly to a variety of audiences.
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills, with strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to prioritize, work independently, and manage multiple customer and business priorities effectively.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a global, cross-functional team environment.
  • Must be willing and able to work flexible hours to accommodate customer schedules.
  • Up to 50% domestic travel and occasional international travel.
  • Must be proficient in English, both written and spoken.

The estimated base salary range for this role, based in the United States of America is $100,000-$146,000. Compensation decisions are dependent on several factors including, but not limited to an individual's ,qualifications, location, internal equity, and alignment with market data. Additionally, employees are eligible to participate in one of our variable cash programs (bonus or commission) and eligible roles may receive equity as part of the compensation package. We offer a wide range of benefits such as paid time off, health/dental/vision, retirement benefits and flexible spending accounts.
