Job summary

Synopsys Inc. in Austin, TX, is seeking a seasoned modeling engineer to calibrate and validate semiconductor models for advanced nodes. You will work directly with customer data, develop compact models for OPC engagements, and resolve calibration issues with Field Applications Engineers.

The role includes building automated validation environments and collaborating with R&D on product enhancements. You will contribute technical training and enablement for customers, and help scale modeling

Qualifications

MS/PhD in a technical field related to electronics or semiconductors.
8+ years building, calibrating, or validating device models.
Deep understanding of device physics and process effects on models.
Experience developing compact models and calibration methods balancing accuracy and runtime.
Strong experience supporting customer-facing engineering engagements.
Programming ability in Python, Tcl, or Perl for automation and workflows.
Experience applying machine learning to modeling is a differentiator.

Responsibilities

Calibrate and validate semiconductor models for advanced process nodes with customer wafer data.
Generate and maintain compact models for OPC engagements.
Debug modeling issues at customer sites with Field Applications Engineers.
Build automated validation and regression environments to catch issues early.
Collaborate with R&D to translate field needs into product improvements.
Deliver technical training and enablement to customers evaluating solutions.
Develop workflows and documentation to improve modeling productivity.
