Job summary

Astronics Test Systems is seeking a Field Applications Engineer to support software and hardware used for functional and diagnostic testing of UUTs. The role includes remote and customer-site work, programming, troubleshooting, and training.

Training on products and processes is provided by ATS. Responsibilities include installation, configuration, diagnostics, and development of test applications, plus collaboration with engineering and customer-facing duties.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated software development experience using one or more programming languages or development environments such as C, C++, C#, Python, LabVIEW, TestStand.
• Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills for root-cause analysis of software, hardware, and system-performance issues.
• Excellent written, verbal, and customer-facing communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain knowledge of Astronics test systems (hardware, software, instrumentation).
• Assemble, configure, calibrate, install, and commission test systems and related equipment at ATS and customer locations.
• Diagnose and repair system hardware or integrate new hardware to support software, firmware, or customer changes.
• Modify, test, and optimize existing test system software to address deficiencies and requirements.
• Develop test applications, sequences, diagnostic routines, interfaces, and scripts for customer-specific needs (remote or on-site).
• Collaborate with Engineering to reproduce issues, resolve deficiencies, and validate code changes.
• Provide remote and on-site customer support with troubleshooting, training, and operator education.
• Support system installations, customer acceptance, demonstrations, and product presentations.
