Job summary

VRS Recruitment is seeking a Field Applications Engineer – Laboratory Automation for a world-leading manufacturer of bespoke laboratory automation systems. You will install, commission, and support customized automation at customer sites across North America, traveling extensively.

You will train customers, work with engineers in Europe and the US, and help address complex technical challenges while contributing to product development.

Qualifications

• PhD in Chemistry, Physics, Engineering, Analytical Science, or a related field.
• Hands-on experience designing, building, or modifying instrumentation and automation.
• Strong mechanical and troubleshooting abilities across electromechanical systems.
• Excellent communication and customer-facing skills.
• Willingness to travel across North America.

Responsibilities

• Install, commission, troubleshoot, and support highly customized laboratory automation systems at customer sites across North America.
• Deliver customer training and provide ongoing technical support while building strong relationships with scientists, engineers, and laboratory managers.
• Work closely with engineering teams in Europe and the US to solve complex technical challenges and support continuous product development.
• Travel extensively throughout the US (primarily the Northeast), with initial technical training provided in Europe.
