Job summary

Bekaert is seeking an Application Engineer to serve as the technical backbone of the commercial team in North America. You will bring deep application expertise to field operations, bridging engineering and sales, ensuring top-level technical support and rapid resolution of quality concerns.

You will lead deployment of advanced services and rope inspection technologies, oversee Ropes 360 initiatives, and develop customer training programs while collaborating with cross-functional teams to

Qualifications

Minimum 7 years in wire rope applications, heavy equipment maintenance, or field service.
BS/BA in Mechanical Engineering, Mining Engineering, Materials Science, or related field.
Willingness to travel up to 40% across North America.

Responsibilities

Provide on-site technical support to sales, including product demonstrations and troubleshooting for Mining, Oil & Gas, and Crane & Industrial segments.
Lead investigations of quality claims with root-cause analysis and formal reports.
Perform on-site inspections of ropes, sheaves, drums, and reeving systems, delivering actionable maintenance recommendations.
Drive Ropes 360 service deployment in North America and support new product development.
Train customers and internal teams, and develop technical publications.
