Job summary

ESAB Corporation, based in Hanover, PA, seeks an Application Engineer to serve as the primary technical resource for the field sales force. You will drive technology evaluation, provide reliable solutions, and advocate ESAB products throughout the sales cycle.

The role requires strong welding process knowledge, blueprints literacy, and collaboration with cross-functional teams. Domestic travel up to 50% is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Welding or Metallurgical engineering or equivalent.
• Proven welding process experience.
• Experience with AWS D1.1/D1.5 and writing PQRs/WPSs.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
• Proficient in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Proficient in Visio and AutoCAD.
• Ability to read blueprints and understand electrical/mechanical controls.

Responsibilities

• Supports ESAB factories, e.g. Hanover, with new product development and agency audits.
• Pursues market needs and value-added activities.
• Supports Sales Team in selling, demonstrating and validating ESAB Solutions.
• Resolves customer issues in line with company mission and objectives.
• Supports training for end users, distribution network, and internal sales teams; articulates tech and product positioning.
• Supports technical teams in filler metals applications, classifications, and troubleshooting.
• Leads tech discussions with NAVSEA and military contractors to identify opportunities.
• Leads technical discussions with nuclear industry customers to identify opportunities and provide solutions.
• Provides technical expertise to demonstrate value and win opportunities with stainless and nickel alloys.
• Assists R&D and quality teams on new product introductions and development.
• Maintains records of target accounts, opportunities, quotes, projects, contacts and correspondence.
