Toyota Automated Logistics is seeking a Field Application Engineer (Technical Sales) in Indianapolis, IN to promote automated material handling technology and develop customer relationships across the region.

The role combines engineering know-how with sales acumen, involving travels and collaboration with multiple Toyota entities to deliver tailored automation solutions. A mechanical/MET engineering background and USA work eligibility are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical or MET preferred).
• Technical Sales experience in industrial sector preferred.
• Material handling automation design and sales experience.
• Strong presentation skills.
• Entrepreneurial and competitive personality.
• Eligible to work in the USA long term without sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Develop strong relationships with customers through timely, regular visits.
• Assess needs and present solutions tailored to customer specifications.

Job Description

A Field Application Engineer promotes the latest technologies within the Automated Material Handling industry to customers. They develop strong relationships with the industrial and distribution clientsin a geographical area and provides them with exceptional material handling and automation solutions to meet their business requirements. This role allows you to work with some of the latest technologies in the ever-changing material handling field including robotics, mobile robotics, autonomous vehicles, AGV's, and more.

Job Functions

• Develop strong relationships with our customers through timely, regular visits
• Assess needs and present solutions tailored to customer specifications
• Sell a wide variety of products and services to meet your customer's needs
• Collaborate with other Toyota Automated Logistics entities to provide the best solution to the customer
• Master business technology (AutoCad, CRM, Power Point presentations, etc.)
• Pursue leads from our Web Site and suppliers
• Communicate strategic information regarding suppliers, customers, and competition
• Network with business contacts within the territory and industry
• Master product information through training and personal efforts

Travel Requirements

• 10% overnight travel (Travel expenses paid by Toyota Automated Logistics)

Preferred Skills and Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in an Engineering discipline (Mechanical or MET preferred)
• Technical Sales experience, industrial sector preferred
• Material handling automation design and sales experience
