Role Overview

The Robotics Field Application Engineer will be essential in deploying, supporting, and optimizing our MAXIMO robot in the field, managing its operational aspects. This role combines technical expertise, problem-solving, and a production mindset.

The successful candidate will be motivated, passionate, and eager to push field capabilities. Working closely with construction managers, engineering, and product teams, you will ensure successful deployment and operation of robotic systems, troubleshoot issues, and collaborate to meet customer requirements.

As a Field Application Engineer, you will work across MAXIMO teams, providing feedback, reports, and solutions to improve production. We believe accelerating decarbonization requires bold actions, empowering the world to meet future energy needs sustainably.

Major Responsibilities

  1. Safety Compliance: Adhere to safety regulations, ensuring a safe work environment.
  2. Operation & Monitoring: Oversee robot performance, ensure uptime, and report anomalies.
  3. Collaboration & Troubleshooting: Work with team members to debug issues, provide feedback, and report on installations.
  4. Customer Focus: Ensure solar sites meet customer needs and address inquiries professionally.
  5. Innovation & Efficiency: Explore ways to improve field operations and productivity.
  6. Maintenance & Optimization: Monitor robot performance, perform maintenance, and implement updates.
  7. Documentation: Keep detailed records, provide reports on system performance and issues.
  8. Planning: Support development of MAXIMO operations plans.
  9. Cross-Functional Collaboration: Engage with engineering, leadership, and construction teams for site improvements.
  10. Mission-Driven: Embrace goals to accelerate decarbonization and promote sustainable energy practices.

Qualifications

  1. Founder's Mentality: Entrepreneurial drive and curiosity to seek new opportunities.
  2. Education: Bachelor's in a relevant technical field (e.g., computer science, electrical engineering, robotics) and experience as a Field Application Engineer or similar.
  3. Experience: Practical field operations experience, preferably in solar or robotics; programming and configuring robotic systems.
  4. Linux Skills: Familiarity with Linux-based robot control systems.
  5. Robotics Knowledge: Understanding of control algorithms, motion planning, sensors.
  6. Skills & Behavior: Ability to work collaboratively, communicate effectively, and maintain quality and attention to detail. Passionate about sustainability and clean energy.
  7. Problem-Solving: Capable of troubleshooting machinery issues and making quick decisions in the field.

Travel: Willing to travel frequently to solar farm locations, approximately 80%.

Languages: English required.

Location: Remote position with 90% on-site at construction sites.
