Senior Software Engineer (multiple openings) - Responsible for complex business data analysis and management, as well as data modeling and automation, for the design, development, testing, and implementation of business intelligence software and solutions to meet design specifications and accomplish the goals of the business intelligence team and overall organization strategic goals. Duties include collecting, analyzing, and managing pharmacy purchasing data, drug dispensing data, insurance claim data, market data related to payer and manufacturer reimbursement and drug costs, and financial data to generate reports for internal and external constituencies to ensure compliance with Sentara contracts; designing and building data visualization business intelligence solutions integrating information from diverse systems; serving as system owner for multiple software systems; developing and implementing specialized ETL processes in support of data migration and business analytics; implementing a complex product Level Dashboard report in various business intelligence software using various BI software to support and fulfill business requirements from stakeholders; analyzing business intelligence data for the development of software used to make business decisions leading to maximum efficiency and peak performance; analyzing and interpreting data as well as testing trends within currently available data to forecast future outcomes; generating customized reports for review by hospital executives, managers, and external Sentara partners; producing and maintaining an internal library of business intelligence solutions tools including all specifications for the purpose of installation and configuration of software systems; documenting specifications for business intelligence or information technology reports, dashboards, or other outputs, includes writing and maintaining functional and technical documentation for all BI solutions; collaborating with other software engineers to troubleshoot problems and work through complicated issues; and pursuing continuous improvement of data quality, standardization of data management processes, efficiency, and quality of service.
Position requires (1) Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a very closely-related field. (2) 36 months of experience in a software engineering position, to include 24 months designing, developing, and testing software systems according to design specifications; serving as system owner for multiple software systems; collaborating with other software engineers to troubleshoot problems and work through complicated issues; and producing and maintaining internal documentation for the purpose of installation and configuration of software systems. (3) Remote employment option may be available. With remote option, it may be necessary to periodically travel to the home office in Virginia Beach, VA for meetings.
Pay Range for this position: $90,000 to $130,000
