Job summary

Ladders is seeking a Field Application Engineer to bridge customers and product teams in the Telecommunications & Hardware space. This remote US-based role focuses on evaluating opticalsolutions, resolving issues, and guiding product specs through development and release cycles.

Responsibilities include customer design reviews, RFIs/RFQs, and documenting performance plans, with travel possible domestically and internationally. Strong Python and English writing skills are required.

Qualifications

• Degree in physical sciences or equivalent engineering field.
• 3+ years of engineering experience with coherent optical modules.
• Experience with product development and NPI processes.
• Working knowledge of transceiver hardware and firmware interfaces.
• Familiarity with CMIS, Ethernet, and InfiniBand standards.
• Practical experience with Cisco and Nvidia platforms, Python proficiency.

• Negotiate technical specifications and trade-offs with customers.
• Participate in customer design reviews and respond to RFIs/RFQs.

Job description

For our client, we are seeking a Field Application Engineer to join the team of a leader in the Telecommunications & Hardware space.

This remote role will serve as a key technical bridge between customers and internal product teams, helping ensure optical solutions are aligned to customer requirements and deployment needs. The position focuses on supporting customer evaluations, resolving technical issues, and guiding product specifications through the development and release process. It is well suited for someone who thrives in customer-facing environments and enjoys translating complex hardware and firmware details into practical outcomes.

Location: Remote - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available

Compensation: $149,900 – $214,150 annually
