Job summary

BRELYON is seeking a Field Applications & Solutions Engineer to bridge hardware and software with enterprise partners. You will own product demonstrations, trade-show deployments, pilot trials, and post-engagement client coordination.

This on-site, full-time role in San Mateo, CA requires hands-on hardware setup, clear technical communication, and disciplined management of multiple client threads, with travel up to 5–8 times per year.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a technical discipline or equivalent practical experience in hardware systems, XR, or computer graphics.
• Hands-on hardware setup, cabling, configuring and troubleshooting on-site under timelines.
• Excellent written and verbal communication, able to explain complex concepts to diverse audiences.

We are looking for a proactive, disciplined problem-solver to join our on-site Silicon Valley team. In this role, you will be the front-facing technical bridge between our engineering team and enterprise partners—driving live field deployments, managing pilot evaluations, and owning deal operations.

About the Role

We are seeking a hands‑on, resourceful Field Applications & Solutions Engineer to serve as the bridge between our cutting‑edge display and computer graphics hardware/software and our enterprise partners. In this role, you will be the front-facing technical owner of product demonstrations, trade show deployments, pilot trials, and post‑engagement client coordination.

This position is ideal for an engineer or technically sharp professional who excels in high‑touch environments: setting up complex hardware/software rigs, explaining advanced optical and visual computing architectures to industry leaders, rigorously managing client communications, and driving business operations from initial trial through deployment.This position is full-time on-site in San Mateo, CA, USA.

Key Responsibilities

• Field Demonstrations & Event Deployments: Set up, calibrate, and operate proprietary display hardware and visual computing systems at major trade shows, expos, customer sites, and our San Mateo lab. Deliver seamless, high‑impact live demos for executive leaders and technical teams.
• Pilot & Proof-of-Concept (PoC) Management: Lead technical onboarding and evaluations for enterprise clients. Serve as the technical point of contact during trial phases, troubleshooting integration hurdles and ensuring PoC success criteria are met.
• Client Engagement & Deal Operations: Manage prompt, systematic follow‑ups after trade shows, demos, and partner meetings. Coordinate proposals, statements of work (SOWs), quotations, and pipeline tracking within our CRM.
• Stellar Technical Communication & Partner Outreach: Execute targeted technical outreach to prospective enterprise, defense, and industrial partners. Communicate complex hardware specifications and display performance metrics into clear operational value.
• Product Feedback Loop: Synthesize field performance data, customer integration requests, and user feedback into structured reports for internal hardware and software engineering teams.

Requirements

• Education & Technical Acumen: Bachelor’s degree in an engineering or technical discipline (e.g., Optical, Electrical, Mechanical, Computer Science, Systems Engineering) or equivalent practical experience in hardware systems, XR, or computer graphics.
• Hands‑on Technical Troubleshooting: Comfortable assembling, cabling, configuring, and troubleshooting physical hardware, display monitors, and graphics software environments on‑site under tight timelines.
• Excellent Client‑Facing Communication: Outstanding written and verbal communication skills. Ability to explain advanced technical concepts clearly to diverse audiences (engineers, pilots, procurement officers, executives).
• Operational Discipline: Highly organized self‑starter capable of managing multiple active client threads, logging CRM interactions, drafting professional technical follow‑ups, and managing logistics for demo hardware.
• Travel & Work Authorization: Ability to work full‑time on‑site in San Mateo, CA, with willingness to travel up to 5-8 times a year for expos and client visits. Must hold valid U.S. work authorization and eligibility for defense‑related (DoD) programs.

Nice‑to‑Haves

• Direct experience with display architectures, optical systems, spatial computing, XR or real‑time 3D/graphics engines.
• Experience supporting visual systems in simulation/training (e.g., flight sims, synthetic environments), command‑and‑control (NOC/SOC), defense, or automotive/aerospace industries.
• Familiarity with DoD procurement workflows, government contracting, or prime contractor partnerships.
