Our client is a fast-growing specialist short range, low power wireless connectivity semiconductor company, currently one of the top two vendors in BLE space. Based on substantial growth over the last three years and with a strong pipeline of new customer designs and product releases, they are looking for a Field Application Engineer to join their FAE team. This person is preferred to be based in the Bay Area.
About the Role
This role entails providing Field technical support for assigned territory defined by Management.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with cross functional team of Sales, Marketing to support customer technical requirements.
- Assist Sales in driving a technical value proposition to customers.
- Support customers in the evaluation process and application development.
- Conduct device experimentation to reproduce and understand customer’s issues and to independently find solutions to these issues.
- Clearly communicate solutions to customers and their issues to the division.
- We are looking for someone who understands how to work with our engineering teams in The US and China and who can leverage those to support our customers in a high touch engineering engagement.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree and above in Electronic Engineering/computer science or related majors.
- Minimum of 5 years of field support experience in semiconductors or related industry.
Required Skills
- Experience with computer languages and embedded programming including but not limited to C/C++.
- Understand basic hardware and common interfaces such as I2C, SPI, UART, PWM, ADC, …
- Knowledge and hands-on experience with one or more of the short distance wireless protocols such as Bluetooth Low Energy (LE), Zigbee, RF4CE, Thread, 2.4Ghz, Proprietary, WiFi, or Bluetooth Classic.
- Familiarity and hands-on experience with RTOS such as Free RTOS, Zephyr is preferred.
- Strong problem solving and analytical skills, familiar with debugging tools such as multimeter, oscilloscope, ...
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in English (Mandarin is Plus).
- Able to travel domestically and internationally (occasionally).
- Previous employment with connectivity players such Nordic, TI, NXP, ST, Dialog, SiLabs or CSR an advantage.
