Job summary

Ryan Companies US, Inc. is seeking an Artificial Intelligence Engineer to join our Data and AI team at the Minneapolis headquarters. This in‑office role is four days per week with one day remote, and requires travel to Midwest construction sites.

You will embed with project teams to prototype and deploy AI solutions, and design production code on Google Cloud Platform (Vertex AI, Cloud Run, BigQuery). The role emphasizes practical field impact and collaboration with field teams to drive value in

Qualifications

• 3+ years of hands‑on experience building and deploying generative AI, ML or advanced software solutions in enterprise or field environments.
• Proficient with agentic coding environments and AI harnesses (e.g., Cursor, Claude Code, Codex) to accelerate software delivery.
• Experience architecting deploying applications on Google Cloud Platform (Vertex AI, Cloud Run, Cloud Composer/Dataflow, IAM).
• Experience developing custom RAG pipelines, fine‑tuning LLMs, and working with vector databases and multi‑agent systems.
• Strong coding in Python, SQL, TypeScript/JavaScript; solid grasp of RESTful APIs, data serialization, and Git workflows.
• Willingness to travel to active construction sites and participate in job site meetings.
• Bachelor's degree in related field or equivalent practical experience.

Responsibilities

• Field-Embedded AI Deployment: embed into construction project teams to observe, diagnose, and solve operational friction points using AI.
• Agentic Rapid Prototyping: build, test, and iterate functional prototypes with velocity using advanced coding environments.
• Software & AI Engineering: write scalable, robust code for tailored applications, agentic workflows, and field tools.
• Cloud Development: design, configure, and maintain production solutions on Google Cloud Platform (Vertex AI, Cloud Run, BigQuery, Cloud Storage).
• RAG and Agent Development: deploy Retrieval-Augmented Generation apps and autonomous agents for construction documents.
• Construction Data Integration: connect models and pipelines to Procore, Autodesk Construction Cloud, ERPs and repositories.
• Feedback Loop and Scale: translate field-tested prototypes into scalable enterprise solutions.
• Culture Building: promote data‑driven decision-making within Ryan's AI culture.
