Job summary

Vylor in Woodland, CA is seeking an Agronomy Specialist to support field trials from planting to harvest at the Woodland Research Station, collaborating with scientists, assistants and operations staff to meet research goals.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent 3 years of related experience.
• Experience with agricultural field operations and equipment.
• Ability to work outdoors in Sacramento Valley conditions.
• Pesticide applicator license or ability to obtain within 120 days.
• Strong data management and MS Office skills.
• Strong verbal and written communication; team player.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Spanish skills are beneficial but not required.

Responsibilities

• Execute field trial operations from land preparation to harvest.
• Irrigation, planting, scouting, pesticide applications, and harvest.
• Collaborate with scientists and operations staff.
• Participate in safety programs and follow policies.
• Travel during planting and harvest as needed.
• Identify improvements in procedures and protocols.
• Assist with logistics of equipment and staff.
• Make daily decisions aligned with company policies.
• Prioritize workloads to meet deadlines.
