IdeaTek is seeking a field-based telecommunications technician to install, splice, repair, and maintain fiber and wireless services around Parsons, KS. You will climb towers, operate bucket trucks, and perform inspections to ensure reliable connectivity for businesses and residences.

Candidates should have 2+ years in a related field, a valid driver's license, and be willing to participate in on-call rotations including nights and weekends. Competitive pay and benefits accompany this role.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of field-based technical experience (splicing/installation/electrician or low voltage work).
• Tower climbing experience or willingness to learn.
• Valid driver's license with no restrictions and ability to pass a DOT physical.
• Ability to participate in on-call rotations including nights, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Perform fiber optic splicing, repairs and plant construction/decommissioning in outdoor environments; deliver and maintain wireless services.
• Complete pre-install inspections, installation, testing and maintenance on wireless towers, including climbing to install and repair equipment.
• Handle service repairs independently and service drops to ensure reliable fiber delivery to businesses.
• Service and repair VoIP systems for residential and business customers.
• Troubleshoot, diagnose and resolve customer connection issues efficiently.
• Maintain splicing schematics and field notes to support service timelines.
• Provide friendly, patient, and efficient customer service.
• Ensure work meets quality standards, safety protocols and customer satisfaction while working at heights.
