Job summary

IdeaTek, a cutting-edge telecommunications company, seeks a Fiber & Wireless Field Service Technician to connect communities with reliable internet and VoIP services. You will perform independent installations, fiber splicing, and prompt repairs in outdoor environments, working in Parsons, KS, and surrounding areas.

You’ll climb towers, handle pre-install inspections, and operate bucket trucks, while keeping safety and quality at the forefront.

Qualifications

• 2+ years in a field-based technical role (splicing, installation, or low voltage work).
• Valid driver’s license with no restrictions and ability to pass a DOT physical.
• Willingness to participate in on-call rotations including nights, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Perform fiber optic cable splicing, repairs, and plant construction in outdoor environments.
• Deliver and maintain wireless services by aligning internet dishes and wireless receivers.
• Install, test, and maintain on wireless towers, including climbing to install equipment.
• Troubleshoot and resolve customer connection issues promptly.
• Record splicing schematics and field notes for timelines.
• Operate bucket trucks and work safely at heights per standards.
