Job summary

Hardy Industries is seeking skilled Fiber Testing and Splicing Technicians to support our national client base. You will perform OTDR testing, fusion splicing, and fault identification in diverse environments, advancing fiber infrastructure projects nationwide.

Must have hands-on fiber experience, industry certifications, and the ability to work independently with strong professionalism. This 1099 contractor role offers on-site pay, travel compensation, and ongoing training opportunities.

Qualifications

• Experience with fiber optic testing and fault finding in field environments.
• Familiarity with OTDRs, power meters, light sources, and certification equipment.
• Ability to read network diagrams, splice schematics, and blueprints.
• Minimum 1 year of Fiber, I.T., or Telecom experience, or 5+ years in the field.
• Certifications listed (FOA/CFOT/BICSI/Network+) are highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Perform a wide range of fiber optic tasks including splicing, testing, and certification.
• Conduct OTDR testing, power meter tests, and fiber continuity assessments.
• Inspect, clean, and remediate connectors; troubleshoot impairments in the field.
• Install, terminate, and test single-mode and multi-mode cabling.
• Document test results, splicing records, and project deliverables.
• Work independently across diverse environments including retail, medical, and data centers.
• Support coverage territory with availability for emergency or after-hours work as needed.
