Job summary

Metronet in Romeoville, IL is seeking a Fiber Technician to install and troubleshoot residential and business fiber services from the terminal to customer equipment. You will educate customers on Metronet products and help maintain service quality.

The role requires physical stamina, the ability to lift up to 75 lbs, a valid driver's license, and willingness to travel for training and service calls. On-call duties and overtime may apply.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Experience with telecom/fiber preferred but not required.
• Must be physically able to work kneeling or standing for long periods.
• Able to lift up to 75 lbs including ladders.
• Valid driver's license with satisfactory driving record.

Responsibilities

• Install and troubleshoot Metronet services from the terminal to Customer Premise Equipment (CPE).
• Provide in-depth customer education on Metronet products and services.
• Earn commissions by explaining Metronet services to customers.
• Maintain professionalism with customers and associates; meet performance metrics.
• On-call rotation duties after regular hours and occasional travel for training or service calls.
