Job summary

Metronet in Owatonna, MN is hiring a Fiber Technician to install and troubleshoot fiber internet and phone services from the fiber terminal to customer equipment. You will educate customers on Metronet products and work to meet performance metrics, with commissions for promoting services.

The role requires lifting up to 75 lbs, climbing ladders, and occasional travel. A High School diploma or GED is required, valid driver's license, and ability to work in attics, crawl spaces, and varying

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Telecom/fiber experience preferred but not required.
• Capability to work kneeling or standing for long periods.
• Ability to work in attics, crawl spaces, and adverse weather.
• Climb ladders up to 25 feet with safety gear.
• Lift up to 75 lbs including ladder.
• Operate and maintain tools and equipment safely.
• Valid driver's license with satisfactory record.

Responsibilities

• Install and troubleshoot Metronet services from terminal to customer equipment.
• Provide in-depth customer education on Metronet products and services.
• Earn commissions by explaining Metronet services and products to customers.
• Maintain professionalism with customers and colleagues.
• Work toward meeting key performance metrics.
• Perform other duties as requested.
