Job summary

Metronet in Davenport, IA is hiring a Fiber Technician to install, troubleshoot and service high-speed internet for residential and business customers.

You will install from fiber terminal to CPE, educate customers on services, and help meet performance metrics. The role requires a high school diploma or GED, valid driver's license, and the ability to work in various conditions. W-2 benefits and travel may be involved.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Telecom/fiber experience preferred but not required.
• Physical ability to kneel or stand for long periods.
• Able to climb ladders up to 25 feet with proper safety equipment.
• Valid driver’s license and satisfactory driving record.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S.
• Willingness to travel for training or as needed.

Responsibilities

• Install and troubleshoot Metronet services from the terminal to Customer Premise Equipment (CPE).
• Provide in-depth customer education on Metronet products and services.
• Earn commissions by explaining Metronet services and products to customers.
• Maintain professionalism with customers and fellow associates.
• Work toward meeting key performance metrics.
• Perform on-call rotation duties after regular business hours.
