BE A PART OF THE CONNECTION

As a Fiber Technician, you will contribute to providing our customers with quality service by locating and repairing fiber impairments in the field. You will primarily work independently while examining existing fiber plant and connecting new builds for residential and enterprise customers. By maintaining and improving Charter's fiber network, your work will help keep our customers connected to our growing network.

WHAT YOU'LL BRING TO SPECTRUM

Required Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma
• Certifications and Training: Industry and vendor-specific certifications such as NCTI, SCTE, BCT/E
• Experience: Maintenance tech or equivalent work experience of at least 1 year
• Technical Skills: Knowledge of fiber architectures, fiber optic systems, testing and splicing equipment, CWDM/DWDM, valid driver's license
• Skills: Highly organized, able to work independently, strong communication skills
• Abilities: Able to stand for 50-70% of the time, use hand tools, climb poles with gaffs and belts occasionally, work in inclement weather
• Schedule: Hours determined by business needs

Preferred Qualifications

• Associate's degree in electronics or related field
• Basic computer knowledge for occasional office work
