Forged Fiber is seeking a Fiber Tech II - Splicing Technician to install, splice, test, and troubleshoot fiber optic cable across construction and restoration projects in the Ft. Myers area.

You will read construction prints, prepare splice enclosures, and coordinate with crews to meet schedules while following safety policies. The role requires 2+ years of fiber splicing experience, proficiency with fusion splicers, OTDR, power meters, and related tools, plus the ability to work outdoors in

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 2+ years fiber splicing/telecom outside-plant experience or equivalent training.
• Proficiency with fusion splicer, OTDR, optical power meter, fiber identifiers, inspection scope.
• Strong reading of construction prints, splice diagrams, and maps; detail-oriented.

Responsibilities

• Install, splice, test, and troubleshoot fiber optic cable for construction projects and restoration.
• Troubleshoot faults with OTDRs, power meters, fiber identifiers, and scope; document results.
• Prepare, install, audit, and repair splice cases/enclosures (aerial, buried, handholes, manholes).
• Perform dark fiber, reel, and continuity testing; repair routes to restore service.
