Job summary

DCOMM, Inc. is seeking a Fiber Splicer for ongoing OSP UG construction projects in Laredo, TX. The role focuses on terminating, splicing, bonding/grounding, documenting, and testing fiber optic cables to ensure high-quality network performance.

You will read engineered blueprints, use OTDRs to verify splice integrity, and coordinate with residents and property owners while maintaining daily production records and as-built maps. Valid driver's license and ability to lift 80 pounds are required.

Qualifications

• Minimum 21 years of age and valid driver's license.
• Experience terminating, splicing, and testing fiber optic cables.
• Ability to read engineered blueprints and site plans.
• Ability to lift up to 80 pounds and work in varying conditions.

Responsibilities

• Self-supervise splicing operations to meet specs.
• Ensure tools and equipment are available and track production.
• Interact with property owners to explain work.
• Fill daily production reports and as-built maps.
• Perform basic installation, testing, and maintenance of inside wiring.
• Troubleshoot splice loss using OTDR.
• Document and validate as-builts for new builds.
