Job summary

DCOMM is seeking skilled Fiber Splicers in El Paso, TX to support expanding OSP underground construction projects. You will splice, terminate, and test fiber optic cables, read blueprints, and perform OTDR testing while maintaining safety and quality.

You’ll work on site with a team, engage with property owners on site, and produce as-built documentation. Weekly pay and competitive pay based on experience highlight our commitment to workforce.

Qualifications

• Experience with fiber optic splicing, testing, and troubleshooting.
• Knowledge of OTDR testing, bonding/grounding, and fiber documentation.
• Ability to read and follow engineering blueprints.
• Strong safety commitment and physical ability to bend, climb, lift up to 80 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Splice, terminate, and test fiber optic cables to deliver high-performance connectivity.
• Perform OTDR testing to verify splices and network integrity.
• Interpret blueprints and splice diagrams to complete projects accurately.
• Troubleshoot and repair fiber issues on site to keep customers connected.

Requirements

• Experience with fiber optic splicing, testing, and troubleshooting
• Knowledge of OTDR testing, bonding/grounding, and fiber documentation
• Ability to read and follow engineering blueprints
• Physical ability to bend, climb, lift (up to 80 lbs), and work in tight spaces
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
• Strong communication skills and commitment to quality and safety
