Job summary

Ervin Cable Construction, LLC is seeking a Fiber Splicer II to perform aerial and underground fiber splicing in Lindon, UT. You will test, activate, and troubleshoot circuits, upgrade fiber sheaths, and assist other splicers in a field operations setting.

The role requires at least two years of fiber splicing experience, a valid driver’s license, and the ability to pass a DOT physical. DOT medical card or pole climbing certification is preferred.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years or older and authorized to work in the United States.
• Valid state driver’s license with clean driving record.
• Pass DOT physical and obtain medical card.
• At least two years of fiber splicing experience.
• Certified pole climber preferred; capable of demonstrating proficiency.

Responsibilities

• Perform cable upgrades and splicing tasks, both aerial and underground.
• Test, activate, and troubleshoot the network’s circuit post-installation.
• Ensure all splicing operations meet customer and industry standards.
• Upgrade existing fiber sheaths with new fiber sheaths.
• Mid-sheath fibers for entry on loose tube or fiber sheaths.
• Cut away sheath to reach faulty connections and prep cables.
• Provide guidance to other splicers as needed.
• Complete basic daily maintenance of vehicles and document work via production reports.
