You will splice overhead, underground or submarine cables, climb poles or towers, interpret blueprints, test conductors, and ensure work meets customer standards and safety requirements.

Qualifications

• 0–1+ years of fiber splicer experience on outside plant projects.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to lift up to 80 lbs.
• Must pass company drug testing and background checks.

Responsibilities

• With guidance, splice overhead, underground or submarine multiple conductor cables.
• Climb utility poles or towers, utilize lift‑bucket or descend into underground vaults.
• Cut sheath from installed cable to access defective cable connections and cut and peel sheath and insulation from newly installed cable and conductors.
• Test (trace or phase out) each conductor to identify corresponding conductors in adjoining cables, using test lamp or bell system.
• Read and interpret mechanical, electrical, digital drawings, maps, blueprints diagrams, etc.
