MasTec Communications Group is seeking an experienced Fiber Splicer to build end-to-end fiber optic networks. You will test, troubleshoot, and deploy fiber infrastructure, working on outdoor utility sites with a hands-on, team-oriented approach.

The role requires 3–5 years of fiber splicing experience, comfort with ladders/bucket trucks, and a flexible shift schedule with overtime. MasTec emphasizes safety, quality, and long-term career growth within the MasTec family.

Responsibilities

• Test and troubleshoot continuity of fiber optic networks.
• Operate all testing equipment and address common fiber network challenges.
• Experience prepping fiber splice enclosures (Tyco, CommScope, Corning, etc.).
• Use fusion splicer, OTDR, and related testing equipment (1310/1550 nm, DWDM/CWDM, OLTS, Max Tester).
• Apply fiber design knowledge, read documentation, and understand light levels and dB loss.
• Work at outdoor utility construction sites.
