MasTec Communications Group is seeking a Fiber Splicer to build end-to-end fiber optic networks and support safety-focused operations. You’ll troubleshoot, test, and install fiber systems while collaborating with a team on outdoor utility sites.

Ideal candidates have 3–5 years of fiber splicing experience, comfort with ladder/bucket trucks, and a willingness to work varied shifts with overtime. Compensation ranges from $28 to $32 per hour, with strong benefits and a commitment to safety.

Responsabilidades

• Test and troubleshoot the continuity of fiber optic networks.
• Operate testing equipment and resolve common fiber challenges.
• Prep fiber splice enclosures (Tyco, CommScope, Corning, etc.).
• Use fusion splicer and OTDR equipment (1310/1550), DWDM/CWDM, OLTS, Max Tester, Power meter.
• Apply fiber design knowledge and read documentation, understand light levels and dB loss.
• Work at outdoor utility construction sites.

Responsibilities

As a Fiber Splicer, you are responsible for producing end-to-end fiber optic networks. You believe in doing the job right. Being the best. And you’re up for the challenge.

In Addition, You Will

• Test and troubleshoot the continuity of fiber optic networks
• Operate all testing equipment and be adept at the resolution of challenges common to fiber optic networks
• Experience prepping fiber splice enclosures such as Tyco, CommScope, Corning, etc.
• Utilize fusion splicer, test equipment OTDR (Optical Time-Domain Reflectometer) 1310, 1550, DWDM, CWDM, 945 OLTS, Max Tester, Power meter
• Fiber engineer knowledge of fiber design, reading documentation, understanding of light levels, and dB loss
• Work in outdoor utility construction sites

Compensation of $28-$32 per hour, depending on the experience.
