GTS is seeking a Fiber Splicer to terminate and test both aerial and underground fiber optic systems. You will update project tracking data and handle customer-required paperwork, ensuring compliance with EIA/TIA standards.
The role includes preparing and splicing fiber optic cable, and using OTDR, optical power meters and fiber identifiers. The position requires interaction with project owners and engineers, and you may provide backup to other roles as directed by management.
A Fiber Splicer is responsible for terminating and testing aerial and underground fiber optic systems, updating and maintaining project tracking information such as production sheets, time sheets and customer required paperwork. Additional responsibilities include performing all aspects of the project in accordance with EIA/TIA standards and applicable building codes. The Fiber Splicer will be responsible for prepping and splicing fiber optic cable. Familiar with fiber optic splice closures, OTDR testing, Optical power meter and Fiber Identifier.
