Job summary

GTS is seeking a Fiber Splicer to terminate and test both aerial and underground fiber optic systems. You will update project tracking data and handle customer-required paperwork, ensuring compliance with EIA/TIA standards.

The role includes preparing and splicing fiber optic cable, and using OTDR, optical power meters and fiber identifiers. The position requires interaction with project owners and engineers, and you may provide backup to other roles as directed by management.

Qualifications

• Customer service interaction with project owners, engineers and coordinating scope changes to the Project Manager.
• Fiber splicing skills: preparing outside plant fiber cables for splicing and operating test equipment.
• Willing to serve as backup to other positions as directed.

Responsibilities

• Terminate and test aerial and underground fiber optic systems.
• Update and maintain project tracking information (production sheets, time sheets, customer paperwork).
• Prepare and splice fiber optic cable.
