Job summary

GTS is seeking a skilled Fiber Splicer to terminate and test aerial and underground fiber optic systems. The role involves updating project tracking information, producing and maintaining paperwork, and performing tasks in line with EIA/TIA standards.

Proficiency with splice closures, OTDR, optical power meters, and fiber identifiers is expected. The candidate will prep and splice fiber optic cable and may serve as backup to other positions as directed by management.

Qualifications

• Customer-focused interactions with project owners, engineers and customers.
• Ability to prepare and splice fiber optic cables and read test results for troubleshooting.
• Willingness to serve as backup to other positions as needed.

Responsibilities

• Terminate and test aerial and underground fiber optic systems.
• Update project tracking information such as production sheets and time sheets.
• Prepare and splice fiber optic cables and inspect splice closures.
• Follow EIA/TIA standards and applicable building codes.
